Tampa Bay cat miraculously returns from the dead and grave, dubbed Zombie Kitty (videos)

It's a story that has to be seen to be believed, and after watching the video below, you may just have faith. When looking for a logical conclusion, one will undoubtedly decide the cat was never dead. At least, that's a better explanation than believing in a real live Zombie Kitty.  But let's go back a bit, and get the facts, before we determine if this cat has miraculously returned from the dead; or was buried alive.

Bart AKA Zombie Kitty: Humane Society Tampa Bay
The tale begins on Jan. 17, 2015, Ellis Huston is Bart's owner and recieved news that Bart had been hit by a car. Huston's neighbor, Dusty Albritton, witnessed seeing Bart in a pool of blood and described the cat as stiff. She told the sad news to Bart's owner who then buried the cat by a beloved tree. The mourning period had begun. Ironically, Albritton was mourning a cat at the same time. That mourning was cut short when Bart suddenly emerged five days later.

Albritton shared much of her thoughts regarding Bart's death and reactions to Bart's (Markie's) subsequent arrival five days later on her personal Facebook page.

According to Albritton, five days later, Bart approached her meowing. She was in a state of shock and couldn't believe the cat she had seen buried was seeking food from her. She notified Bart's owner, who was also in a state of shock. After carefully observing and monitoring Bart's condition, they brought him to the Animal Health Center at the Humane Society of Tampa Bay. Bart has suffered a number of health conditions and will undergo surgery.

Albritton described the incident and initial shock to seeing Bart alive to Tampa Bay's Fox 13 news, "You knew it was him because his face was messed up. And he's just sitting there, looking at me purring, wanting food, but obviously, he couldn't eat. And I'm just...I'm just in shock...like...this is God's miracle. This...this doesn't happen.

What do you think about this story? Is Bart a true miracle or is this just a case of a cat living out his nine lives?

Here's a video from Albritton and Bart's owner following Bart's (Markie's) return.

More Videos FOX 32 News Chicago

Dusty Albrittron has started a "Go Fund Me" page for Bart (Markie). She also shares her personal account and update regarding the incident and Bart's diagnosis.

The following is from the Go Fund Me page.

On 1 /17 2015 Markie [bart] we thought was hit by a car and killed , His owners Mr Wayne went and moved him out of the road and later buried him, unfourtantly Markie was dead he was stiff and in a pool of blood,

Mr Wayne called the ASPCA and took Markie to the docs today 1/23/2015 and was confirmed That markie had been buried [ he was not alive] when he was buried,
Come to find out Markie may have been attacked by a racoon or a pit bull that runs the neighbohood , was confirmed maggots on the brian , he will loose his eye he has a broken jaw and his cheek bone is exposed,
Markie is going to need a lot of medical assitance and bills will begin to pile up soon while the family makes sure Markie makes a full recovery.
The family is sharing thier story For the belief in God and his amazing miracles , and That thier beloved cat has came back to life after 5 days , it is an amazing Miracle , I have seen all these events with my own eyes, and have photos from day one of finding markie passed away, his grave , and his return.
The family is asking help with medical bills for the simple fact , markie has died 1 time and has came back so they will not uthinize markie, He has a big reason to be here,

Press Release: Frost & Sullivan Honors Danisco Animal Nutrition for its Unique Animal Feed Additive that Combines Enzymes and Direct-Fed Microbials (DFMs)

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.Jan. 26, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Based on its recent analysis of the poultry feed market, Frost & Sullivan has selected DuPont company Danisco Animal Nutrition to be the recipient of its 2014 North American Award for New Product Innovation for its poultry gut health solution. Acknowledging the growth potential in the poultry sector, Danisco Animal Nutrition introduced Syncra® AVI, a one-of-a-kind feed additive solution that merges the benefits of both feed enzymes and probiotics, which can be used as an alternative to antibiotic growth promoters where consumer pressure has led to a call for reductions. It can also be used in conjunction with antibiotics and other additives to support poultry gut health and liveability. This advanced solution also radically improves bird growth performance and saves production costs.
Logo -
Danisco Animal Nutrition has maintained its leadership position in the feed enzymes market after more than 25 years of developing innovative combinations of its carbohydrase and protease products. These novel multi-enzyme products were the first products to enable the use of cheaper feed ingredients without lowering the birds' performance. Similarly, the more recent Syncra® AVI meets the poultry market's need to cut production costs, as well as maximize profits and efficiency in a sustainable manner.
"Syncra® AVI is demonstrably effective, as it is backed by research studies that truly show the benefits gained from combining the different but complementary modes of action of exogenous feed enzymes and probiotics," said Frost & Sullivan Senior Industry AnalystTosin Jack.
A recent research study showed that the blend enhanced the apparent metabolizable energy (AMEn) through superior protein, fat, and starch digestibility. It also diminished ileal insoluble non-starch polysaccharide (NSP) flow, aiding fiber digestion. Given that the poultry industry is expected to drive the feed ingredient market's growth, this innovation represents a significant investment for the industry.
Syncra® AVI is designed to provide peace of mind for integrators running large poultry complexes. Not only is it thermostable, it can be used with antibiotics and other additives, and is sold in optimized dosages that have been proven to unlock full poultry feed potential. For instance, at an inclusion rate of 200g/ton for broilers, it delivers guaranteed levels of 10,000U/g xylanase; 1,000U/g amylase; 20,000 U/g protease; and Bacillus spp 3.75 x 108 cfu/g. Meanwhile, its convenience of application translates to decreased logistics costs and micro-bin space.
"Both customers and nutritionists perceive Danisco Animal Nutrition's products as trustworthy because their solutions are always evidence based," Jack said. "The company works closely with nutritionists and other stakeholders during the decision-making process, which means that its solutions meet the direct needs of the customers/market."
Based on all these, and because Syncra® AVI is the first trial-backed solution that successfully combines probiotics and enzymes for the poultry market, Frost & Sullivan is pleased to present the 2014 North American New Product Innovation Award to Danisco Animal Nutrition.
Each year, Frost & Sullivan presents this award to the company that has developed an innovative element in a product by leveraging leading-edge technologies. The award recognizes the value-added features/benefits of the product and the increased ROI it offers customers, which, in turn, increases customer acquisition and overall market penetration potential.
Frost & Sullivan's Best Practices Awards recognize companies in a variety of regional and global markets for outstanding achievement in areas such as leadership, technological innovation, customer service, and product development. Industry analysts compare market participants and measure performance through in-depth interviews, analysis, and extensive secondary research.

Press Release: Report: Veterinary Diagnostic Testmakers Should Segment Strategy To Prosper

NEW YORKJan. 26, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Lab testing performed as part of the veterinary care of food animals (livestock and production animals) and companion animals (pets) supports two distinct market segments, according to Kalorama Information. The combined veterinary diagnostics market is served by companies that predominately focus on one of the two segments: food animal diagnostics or companion animal diagnostics.
Kalorama Information's newly published The World Market for Veterinary Diagnostics provides thorough analysis and segmentation specific to both the companion animal and food animal diagnostics segments, treating both markets separately. The report can be found at http://www.kaloramainformation.com/Veterinary-Diagnostics-8572450/. The report says that few companies can play the entire market.
"With a major exception of a large player like IDEXX laboratories, the veterinary diagnostics industry is populated by companies that produce either animal infectious disease tests or core test analyzers," said Emil Salazar, veterinary diagnostics analyst for Kalorama Information and the author of the report. "Companies entering the market should be familiar with the different dynamics between the two segments for companion animal and food animal diagnostics."
In terms of companion animal diagnostics, Salazar notes that the strengthening human-animal bond and view of pets as family members have dictated rising standards of companion animal care in the United States and, to a lesser extent, other developed countries. The humanization of companion animals is evident in the diagnostics space; veterinary practices challenged by sustained market softness (in terms of patient visit volumes) have responded by encouraging routine check-ups and enhancing in-house diagnostic capabilities. With the significant role of in-clinic analyzers, non-infectious disease testing - led by chemistry and hematology - now represents approximately 75% of the companion animal diagnostics market.
"Recent market growth for companion animal infectious disease tests has been slight as relatively few threats exist for dogs and cats in North American and European markets," Salazar said. "Assay vendors have resorted to the standardization of infectious disease screening panels or multiplex assays to spur growth more in line with the rest of the veterinary diagnostics market."
For the food animal diagnostic market, Kalorama's report says that the majority of the food animal diagnostics market is represented by infectious disease testing. Food animal diagnostics are used in industry-led passive surveillance (testing in response to symptoms, illness and livestock loss) and active surveillance (disease screening as part of eradication and herd health efforts). Infectious disease testing is critical to mitigating overall production loss by preventing disease spread.
"Individual food animal wellness and preventative care are a relative non-priority compared to the companion animal space," Salazar said. Appropriately, immunodiagnostics and molecular diagnostic test kits and reagents account for over 80% of the food animal diagnostics market. Molecular diagnostic test kits profile highly in food animal diagnostics due to their specificity and sample flexibility highly desired in the implementation of new disease surveillance and control programs.
Kalorama Information's report, The World Market for Veterinary Diagnostics contains trend analysis, corporate profiles and market estimation for both food and companion animal markets. The report can be found at http://www.kaloramainformation.com/Veterinary-Diagnostics-8572450/.

Press Release: Honor the Hero Veterinarian or Hero Veterinary Technician in Your Animal's Life!

WASHINGTONJan. 23, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- For millions of Americans, animals are not just their best friends, but their heroes. Whether they are lending eyes to the unsighted, ears to the deaf, protection to the sleeping family and the soldier, or providing a welcoming kiss at the end of a hard day, animals affect us in so many different ways. And behind almost every hero pet (and millions more animals) is a hero veterinarian or hero veterinary technician. These often little-known benefactors save and improve the lives of our two- and four-legged best friends in many ways, and now it is time to honor their achievements.
American Humane Association, the country's first national humane organization, recognizes the hard work these professionals put in day-in and day-out in the name of helping animals, and is pleased to announce that nominations are now open for the second annualAmerican Humane Association Hero Veterinarian and Hero Veterinary Technician Awards™, presented by Zoetis Inc.  Pet owners and animal lovers alike are invited to visit www.herovetawards.org between now and March 13 to nominate their favorite veterinary professionals who are dedicated to the betterment of the health and welfare of animals and the promotion of the human-animal bond.
